Design & Build: Site, Structure & Skin
Design Workshop, Project Report, Technical Follow Up
Service Description
Having trouble from conventional, ecologically harmful materials like concrete, steel and petrochemicals? Want to build with less impact but are hindered by technical, financial or other constraints? Need help convincing project stakeholders to implement ecological or circular materials? Are you interested in biobased insulation but not sure if it performs well enough for your project? Do not worry, we are there for you! Thanks to years of hands-on experience and constant exchanges with builders and producers, we have all the know-how needed to steer your team towards real environmental gains, to build bridges and to build a positive story together. This project support package focuses on your building’s structure and exterior envelope, zooming in on aspects like (biobased) insulation, façade cladding, roof compositions, foundations and structural materials. We help you optimise the environmental impact and circularity of your building (low-carbon materials, design rationalisation, reuse, recycling), all while ensuring you reach the necessary requirements for stability, thermal performance, fire safety, acoustics and budget. During a 2-hour in-depth session with your design team, we discuss a range of low-impact solutions for every aspect of your project. We pay specific attention to understanding your context in order to give tailored and relevant advice, and to make sure we can help you engage with the other experts who are involved (EPB, stability, acoustics). Our subsequent project report will equip you with all the necessary information (price, technical properties, references) needed to get started and deliver an exemplary building. The service includes: - 2-hour session with technical consultant in our sustainable material library, the Materatek. - Project report with our recommendations, technical resources and specific information (price, performance, ecological characteristics) for every material we propose. - Technical follow-up (2-3 meetings to clarify technical/practical aspects, help with procurance, engaging with other stakeholders) ( You can combine this package with Design & Build: Space Plan & Stuff to have a comprehensive sustainability strategy for your building and multiply your impact even more ) Ready to be inspired?
